Subject: 1950s/60s era tourist map poster displays with roller selectors?
Hello
I am interested if anyone on the list remembers city centre tourist maps, displayed on large poster boards in public places from the 1950s/60s era.
A colleague mentioned that he remembers them in Manchester and they included some kind of roller-pulley system that allowed people to move a selection pointer around on the map.
I think the attached photograph might be showing what this kind of map but its not very clear. Its also online at

Any information gratefully received.
many thanks
