Hi Patricia,
Thank you for coming back to me and apologies, I recognise it’s a stretch! That’s very kind – could I ask you to send the request around and ask colleagues to email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or call 0121 414 5134 / +44 (0)7789 921165 if they are interested and available please? I’ll be leaving shortly and our out-of-hours lead this weekend will probably be best placed to link up the opportunity.
Many thanks
Samantha

Hi Samantha,
That sounds really interesting, but it is quite far from what I do. However, I do have several email lists where I could send this around and see if there are other academics who might be interested. Do you want me to do that?
All the best,
Pat

Subject: BBC radio WM interview on Jamaican cultural traditions
Dear Patricia,
I just wondered if you might be available (and willing) to provide an interview for BBC radio WM this Sunday evening? They are running a feature on cultural traditions in Jamaica and Jamaican communities in light of the upcoming 55th anniversary. They particularly referenced the flag raising ceremony and would like to find out more about where this tradition has come from.
I appreciate this might be a bit of a stretch from your research area but perhaps an interesting opportunity nonetheless to discuss the important historical development and cultural traditions of Jamaica? The interview could be by telephone or in the studio at the Mailbox depending on your preference. It would be on the evening show at around 8.50pm.
Please don’t hesitate to call me to discuss,
Best wishes
Samantha
