Subject: Funded Call for Proposals - Geoforum 2018 workshop
Forwarded on behalf of Pádraig Carmody:
Call to host sponsored Geoforum Workshop on a key emergent theme in Geography Geoforum is pleased to announce that it will sponsor its third workshop, in 2018, on a key emergent or under-researched theme in human or environmental geography, with a view to producing a special issue of the journal from the proceedings (papers will be subject to the usual review process). A budget to reimburse attending speakers for reasonable travel expenses and for agreed administrative support will be available for the workshop.
We are particularly interested in receiving proposals which address an emergent empirical issue that demands new theoretical approaches or a rapidly developing set of theoretical debates, possibly between different sub-fields within geography or between geography and cognate disciplines. For the 2018 event we particularly encourage applications from the developing world/a non-European world region to host the workshop.
Proposals (maximum five pages) should include a description of the theme to be addressed and why it is important, an indicative list of potential paper presenters and abstracts (if available). Proposals should be submitted to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by October 2nd, 2017. The judging panel will consist of the journal editors, in addition to members drawn from the editorial board. Please direct informal queries before then to Pádraig Carmody ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
