Hi Jo
You are right to be concerned. The April results were due "by 6th June", which kind of makes you think you might get them earlier. In reality they were dripping through to WG on the afternoon of 6th June. Prior to that the special team had sent out a pre-populated spreadsheet with all learners information from the April sittings so that you could request re-sits for paper exams using that spreadsheet. All of ours were evolve tests so I didn't use that spreadsheet - evolve test re-sits could be booked up until the exam day but I get the feeling that all of these are workarounds because C&G haven't got a handle on it and these methods were never mentioned before the doo-dah hit the fan. There wasn't long enough between results and re-sits - with our first re-sits timetabled for 19th June it was less than two weeks from flash to bang and that's not a whole heap of time when you have a few other bits and pieces going on.
We have a definite feeling that centres are very much guinea pigs with this and C&G are adapting processes as they go along. We receive countless emails, never sent to the right people so I spend my time forwarding them on to the right person or asking whether someone else has received one I should have had.
I can honestly say this is the hardest qualification to understand in my 14 years as an EO...and I remember the 14-19 Diplomas :-)

Hi Ros,
Really interesting to hear your experience of the new qualifications. All of the comments you make are the concerns we had about the moderation portal and the exam durations, without mentioning the wishy washy qualification specifications that our teams could not make any sense of at all.
Are exam results being released in a well-timed manner, allowing you enough time enter students for re-sits?
Kind regards

Hi Brian
For our sins we are doing a whole heap of Land-based and some Hair & Beauty. We’ve had a whole host of issues, not least of all being that last week they decided that we weren't best placed to decide which qualifications our learners were doing so they decided to re-register them on a different qualification and charge us the registration fees for the privilege.
If you speak to Customer Service team their only answer is that it is new qualification and you have to speak to the special team: the special team are the ones who decide to register your learners erroneously. The moderation portal is the biggest load of faff I have ever come across, teaching staff are scratching their heads at what they should be doing and when and why they can't do what the special team tell them they have to do, C&G have had to amend all the exam durations because tests were too hard in the April sessions - I could go on.
I'm not feeling the love for it, to say the least....

Hi All
Is anyone offering City & Guilds (L3) Advanced Technical Diplomas this year? We've had issues with their (lack of) systems and exam administration so was wondering what others experience was.
