The University of Reading is looking for an enthusiastic and well organised individual to join our Collections Services Team as Senior Library Assistant.
The post will report directly to the Content Manager, and provide support for the management of the Library's e-resources. As a member of the e-resources team, you will investigate and resolve e-resource access queries from students and staff. You will also assist with the maintenance of the Library's electronic holdings, and the set-up of access to new e-resources.
The post will be responsible for compiling usage statistics for the Library's electronic resources, including e-journals, e-books and databases. You will gather usage and turnaway data and produce regular reports in order to inform collection management decisions.
The post will also undertake other general Library duties including support in a liaison team.
You will have:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of electronic resources
- A good general education to GCSE standard or equivalent, including English and Maths
- Experience of working in a library or information service (or related sector)
