CILIP is offering a bursary place for the CILIP Conference through each of its Special Interest Groups.
The CILIP Conference (5-6 July, Manchester) brings together library, knowledge and information professionals from across sectors, giving delegates an opportunity to share experiences, advice and best practice, develop skills and be a part of the discussion that will affect the future of the profession. This year's programme focuses on the key areas impacting our work; from technology to policy, and social justice to learning. These sessions will sit alongside a dedicated strand focusing on "Your Career" which will offer help, advice and the tools you need.
The keynote speakers confirmed for this year are Dr Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress and Professor Luciano Floridi, Oxford Internet Institute (OII) Professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information at the University of Oxford and Faculty Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute (ATI). Dr Hayden is the first African American and first female to be appointed to the role. The Library of Congress holds more than 162 million items, including many unique items from America's history. Professor Floridi's areas of expertise include the philosophy of information, computer ethics, information ethics, data ethics and the philosophy of technology and he has written on the topic subject of "fake news".
