Dear All,
Its election time - and important to ensure we have our views as
geophysicists represented! If you are a member of either of our parent
societies please dont forget to vote.
For the GeolSoc elections the deadline is 31st March and Neil Mitchell
is from our community. The website address is
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/vote2016 and GeolSoc members should have
received an invitation to vote back on 13th February (it came from the
Electoral Reform Society, not the GeolSoc directly). Candidates' details
are on the website and in the March edition of "Geoscientist" (the one
with the headline "Game of Drones" on the front!).
The polls have not yet opened for the RAS so what we need at this stage
is for RAS members to check your contact details so you receive a notice
of the ballot when it does open. This can be done at
https://fellows.ras.ac.uk (note there is NO LINK to this from the RAS
homepage). The ballot closes on 11th May.
If you would like to get more involved in helping promote UK Geophysics
at any level please dont hesitate to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Jenny
