> Social policy in East Asia is developed and reformed in an increasingly chal
lenging environment. The ‘environment’ here is not confined to natural envir

The 2017 conference will examine social policy issues in the wider structural
challenges and consider visions for the future in the region. We encourage bo
th theoretical and empirical papers. Comparative perspectives relating to soci
al policy issues within and across the regions are particularly welcome. We al
so invite papers by postgraduate students and early-career researchers as well
as established scholars working in the fields of social policy on East Asia.
