medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Colleagues,
Many thanks to all who have signed the petition advocating for the
preservation of the nuns’ library at Altomünster. On Feb. 27, Prioress
Apollonia Buchinger was forced to leave the monastery. The library is
now in the hands of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising. We have not
been appraised of the location of the books, nor do we know if/when the
library will be made accessible to scholars, nor do we know whether the
library in its entirety as we discovered it in 2015 is still intact. For
more information see my academia site:
https://asu.academia.edu/CorineSchleif. If you have not yet signed the
petition you may do so at

All best,
