gunnar and francois,
loosely speaking, i agree that "designers are politicians" a good deal of their times.
however, language matters and there is so much more to being a politician or a designer that claiming the equivalence of the two professions albeit with the qualification 50% of the time is easily misleading.
wouldn't it be better to observe, study, and teach how designers collaborate with or better still create the stakeholders they need to succeed in getting their project realized? surely, regarding this ability, designers can learn much from studying other professions but can rarely mimic everything that defines them in their own terms and language.
