Dear Teena,
I understand your point. Here in Colombia, there is a large need for gender
diversity. For example, even though the number of men and women
undergraduate design students is even, there is a lot more men PhD students
and tenured faculty. I can see that this is a pattern in many fields.
I continue learning from the discussions in the past week. I appreciate
your time and effort to increase our awareness on this complex issue. I
found particularly potent Carma's recommendation about tone policing. My
take away message is that one has to listen and do the homework.
