Hi Folks
There is another outbreak of malicious emails from a troll. Many of you may remember the Bishop incident some time ago, well either he or another lowlife are attempting to spam this list. I have removed two subscribers in the past couple of days, and will immediately delete any more that pop up.
Can I ask that we don’t answer these silly messages where it is obvious that they are just to make mischief - Ken, I hope you’re listening. It achieves nothing and simply fills our mailboxes with more junk. Incidents such as this lead to a big increase in people leaving the list, and that is what is happening right now. Ignoring trolls and swift use of the delete subscriber function should prevent this kind of abuse in future.
Mauricio Mejía said “ I suggest that we come back to design research and PhD design education discussions. That’s why I subscribed to this list.” I second that.
David

More than this, Mike now edits the oldest design journal -- Visible Language. (He took on VL when Sharon Poggenpohl passed him the torch following her many decades of service to the field.)

Following a one-year moving embargo for those who subscribe to the paper version of VL, Mike made the complete contents of all past volumes available online in free open access format.

We especially tend to disagree on politics, which makes for a lively conversation. I can turn to Mike for an honest and well-informed opinion flavored by very different perspectives. And beneath our differences, his opinions rest upon a solid foundation of human generosity.

Get out of the shadows and meet Mike as what he is: a lovely human being who contributes to this list for many of the same reasons we all do, and a serious practicing designer and professor whose contributions to our common field warrant the high esteem in which so many hold him.
