Call for Papers
This international conference aims to foster dialogue between scholars
researching all aspects of musical culture and the middlebrow.
W
e are currently inviting proposals for individual papers (20 minutes) and
panel sessions (3 papers) that respond to the project rationale

Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the relationship between
music, the middlebrow and:
* Modernism / modernity
* Popular culture
* National identity
* Film
* Theater
* Cultural geography
* Religion
* Politics
* Social class
* Race
* Gender
Abstracts of around 300 words should be submitted to
