I have funds via a NSF-CAREER award 1255277 to support 1 Ph.D. or M.S. student to work on a world-class intracontinental shear zone pursuing an interdisciplinary project in northern Saskatchewan (http://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=1255277). The work is a collaboration between the University of Arkansas, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and Boise State University. Research will include field mapping in northern Saskatchewan, microstructural analysis, electron probe microanalysis, phase equilibria modeling, and geochronology via LA-ICP-MS and ID-TIMS.
The research is heavily focused on granulite-grade rocks and the successful applicant must have experience with high-grade metamorphic rocks and remote back country field work. The successful applicant must be able to begin field work in July 2017 prior to school starting in
August 2017.
