Koç University, Department of Media and Visual Arts (MAVA) invites
applications for full-time faculty positions of any rank (beginning
September 2017). Areas of specialization are open, but candidates
specializing in Industrial Design or Interaction Design areas are
particularly encouraged to apply:
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in either design, engineering, or
social sciences; a record of demonstrated research accomplishments. The
successful candidate will also be affiliated with the Koç University –
Arçelik Research Center for Creative Industries (KUAR)

Successful candidates will be expected to teach two courses per semester
and is expected to have an active research agenda. At the time of
employment, candidates should have a PhD. We especially encourage
applications from candidates whose research agenda is interdisciplinary.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

curriculum that emphasizes communications theory, media/arts management,

Arts were ranked at or above the 99th percentile of the Central University
Placement Exams in Turkey.

in 2015, KUAR aims to add value, via research, that increases the
efficiency and international competitiveness of Turkish creative
industries. A wide range of topics such as lifestyle, entertainment (game,
performance, movies, drama, animation), cultural heritage (exhibitions,
heritage, analysis), info-assistance, transportation, education, healthcare
lie within the scope of research conducted at KUAR where research and
development on conceptual/experimental/visionary prototypes, working
prototypes, re-design prototypes of products, design guidelines is
