Dear all,
Design School Kolding invites applications for a newly established Full Professorship. The position is to be filled by 1st of March 2017 or soon thereafter.
The Professor will be affiliated to the newly established Research & Development Department. The Professorship must help develop and strengthen research and development within the School's three strategic focus areas, which are sustainability, social inclusion and play. This is to respond to the challenges facing future services, relations and products. Thus, we are looking for a Professor that can contribute to this through substantial knowledge within Design Thinking, Strategic Design, Product Design, Service Design and/or CoDesign. Furthermore, we need a Professor that can see the potential of working with a group of mainly practice-based design researchers and developers.
You will be part of the rectorate and involved in realising the Schools' ambition of being amongst the leading talent developers at bachelor, masters and PhD level within the field of design. You will be heading three knowledge clusters with designated managers. The clusters include: play and design; sustainability and design; and welfare design.
The Research and Development Department produces a major part of the knowledge that forms the foundation for the Schools' education. The Professorship will include teaching and PhD supervision. A majority of the department staff has split positions between R&D and teaching. Thus, the department contributes profoundly to ensure a research and development based education at a high level and relevance.
We expect that the new Professor build strong relations internally and externally, and also ensure co-operation, partnerships, project fundraising and profiling of the Schools' knowledge production, on a national as well as an international level. As part of this we expect the Professor to publish research and development results to a national as well as an international peer community at conferences, in journals and in reports.
Applicants must demonstrate:

· Research qualifications at an international level

· Ability to bring research and development activities into play in relation to the design education

· Experience in initiating and managing research projects

· Ability to disseminate design research academically, in teaching, and in dialogue with the business community

· Ability to collaborate with other educational and research institutions
The application must include:

· Motivated application of no more than 3 pages

· CV

· Detailed list of publications

· 4-6 selected articles
At a personal level, we expect you to be able to bring together researchers and developers and be able to communicate across professional disciplines and cultures. We consider it important that you are curious and will inspire researchers, developers, PhD students, teachers and students at the school.
Terms of employment and payment are determined by the current collective agreement. The position is permanent. We welcome all applicants.
If you would like to work in an exciting and constantly evolving knowledge and educational setting, please submit your application electronically via the link below no later than 28th of November.
