This event is co-organised by London South Bank University and the research group AMPS.
At a time when governments across the world are addressing various forms of housing crisis with the aim of doubling house construction in some cases, and a renewed period of economic activity in the West, this conference draws attention to the environmental impact the increased construction activity is likely to bring in the coming decades.
In the context of attempts to obtain zero carbon across the West, the starting point is design and construction in three specific areas: Housing; Commercial Buildings; Urban Design and Cities.
In these area, the conference is concerned with Sustainable construction; Eco-retrofitting; Resilience; Adapting to climate change; Eco-materials and technologies; Life cycle analysis; Sustainable communities; Effective public transit; low-tec, low-cost self -build etc.
This interdisciplinary conference welcomes international contributions from across sectors, such as: environmental engineers, sustainable architects, urban planners, infrastructure designers, building technologists, policy makers, community representatives and others.
