Dear mailbase
We currently use the LDH P-to-L method on Siemens ADVIA 1800s. Our current reference range is 200 – 550 U/L. On reviewing the kit insert, the reference range (expected values) is stated as 208 – 378 U/L (IFU references Tietz).
A change to the ULN for LDH would potentially have a significant clinical impact on patient staging and prognostic classification for germ cell tumours, and IPI (Lymphoma).
Are any other labs using 200-550 U/L? What is the provenance of this range?
Many thanks
Phil
