Hi Sue,
Over the years we have tried various products as well as Group Policy features in Windows to lock down browsers, but users always found a way round it!
We currently use a product call Porteus Kiosk which uses a small Linux shell which is very quick and easy to install and centrally configure.
If you need any further info, their website is:
http://porteus-kiosk.org
Happy to explain off list, how we use it in our libraries and across campus.
Thanks

Subject: Software for locking down OPACs
Hi everyone
We at London South Bank University are reviewing the software we use to lock down our OPACs.
Currently we use Public Web Browser (PWB) but we are keeping our options open. Does anyone lock down their OPAC PCs using web browser lockdown add-ons or options?
We are also interested in whether anyone out there uses Site Kiosk or any other equivalent software.
Please reply off-list if your prefer. Apologies for any cross-posting.
Many thanks for your help
Sue Carter
