Sorry everyone; I just noticed the website link I used isn't working. A working link
is http://www.helsinki.fi/elf10/2017/.
And, given the tight timings, if you'd like to take part then please just send me a
title and short abstract (100 words is fine).
It's ok if your ideas are mostly based on your own teaching, though you'd ideally
include reference to pedagogical research. You can of course simply say in the
abstract that you will be relating your work to pedagogical studies, briefly
mentioning broad areas of relevant research, then wait to actually read up on that
research until nearer to the conference :)
And it's worth mentioning that pedagogical presentations can be useful for career
progression, both in terms of internal appraisal and also accreditation by (for
example in the UK) the Higher Education Academy. They're not as important as research
presentations, and probably not worth doing if you've already done a few, but
certainly worthwhile if you haven't previously given a pedagogical talk.
Hoping to hear from some of you soon!
Dave
