IRMS London is pleased to welcome David Ryan to talk at our latest event on Thursday September 29th 2016.

Prior to joining The National Archives, David was Head of Information Management at Pfizer Ltd., where he successfully introduced a major change programme in the management of electronic records. A graduate of King's College, London, he also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Archive Studies from University College, London.
David will be proposing some exciting thoughts and ideas on what Information Management will look like in the future. Please read below for a synopsis of David's talk:
"What's past is prologue"
In contemporary use, this phrase represents the idea that history sets the context for the present. In the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare's death, and using a selection of well-known quotes from his work, I would like to reflect on what the next few years might bring to the world of information management, from holographic user interfaces to the real possibilities of a data driven workplace. I will put forward some approaches to how we might successfully respond to these challenges as we head towards 2020 and beyond. As Shakespeare himself said: 'It is not in the stars to hold our Destiny but in ourselves'.
The event will be held at OFWAT's London Offices in Bloomsbury Street and will follow the usual format:
Arrivals, refreshments and networking 5.30-6.30pm
Talk and Q&A from 6.30pm
