Thanks. I'm leaving for the same role back where I came from (up North).
I will be working at Shipley College for the time being, covering the Exams Manager post there. I just love the world of exams and as such I won't be leaving it just yet!

Hi,
Last year we had a shared spreadsheet but I have pushed for our learning support team to input the data in our MIS system, which they have agreed to do.
As a result, they will be able to pull reports off from our MIS system and so will we in exams. It will also be a lot easier to identify where students have access arrangements in one subject but not another, so it can be identified before an exam. This is particularly relevant for the English and Maths elements.
Also, as our Exam Booking form is pulled from the data on our MIUS system, it pulls through any concessions the students are approved for at that course (it's done at course level). So, when this form comes to the exams team it has all of the details we need.
It’s the first time it's been fully implemented this year (as the tests proved positive) and I'm pretty sure it will work well; however I won't be here to reap the benefits of this as I leave this post at the end of October for another role.
Thanks.
Regards,

Thanks Rachel. A centralised spreadsheet has been discussed and I think at the moment this will be the way forward. I would like the information to go on our MIS system but I think I maybe pushing it as they have had this dumped on them.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi Tracy,
We work in this way and have a really good relationship with our Student Services colleagues who process the applications. Once applications are approved we have a central spreadsheet that all the information goes onto. Moving forward I want to record the information on our MIS system but we're not in a position to do that currently.
Many Thanks
Rachel

Hello
I hope you can help with some advice?
Our Additional Support Department are for the first time this year taking on the responsibility of applying for access arrangements through JCQ. I'm happy about this but I feel a little lost as I no longer have control over it.
If your SENCO applies for the access arrangements how do they notify you of approvals? Do you have a centralised database or is it simply by email?
I'm just trying to gather some information on best practice as I have a meeting with the SENCO on Friday and would welcome any suggestions of how best to move forward with the change.
Regards
