The Royal College of Music is recruiting two musical instrument cataloguers to generate records for the MINIM project (www.minim.ac.uk<http://www.minim.ac.uk>), supported by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England), and delivered in partnership with the University of Edinburgh, Royal Academy of Music and Horniman Museum and Gardens.
The successful candidates will have solid knowledge of musical instruments and a track record in cataloguing and photographing them, and be ready to travel extensively within the UK: each post might require approximately 200 days of field work in a year.
Given the distribution of collections in the UK, one post will be based from London, and the other from Edinburgh, to ensure national coverage. Interviews will be held in both cities, respectively on the 20th and 22nd July.
