Hello everyone,
Apologies if you receive thismessage through multiple lists.
I’m writing to ask if you would beable to spare 10-15 minutes to participate in an online survey investigatingthe effects of anxiety on musical performance and its moderation by varioustechniques.
The survey is part of a collaborativeresearch project between the Royal Northern College of Music and theSchool of Psychological Sciences at the University of Manchester. The studyinvestigates techniques used to manage music performance anxiety. You will beasked about the instrument(s) you play and your solo and groupperformance, whether you experience performance anxiety in these performances, how you feel that this effects your performance, and how you manage this. Youwill also be asked questions relating to any use and perception of use ofbeta blockers in the music profession (all responses are anonymous). Musiciansof any background / style / level are all welcome to participate. Thequestionnaire is anonymous and identifying details are not linked to theresponses. Your responses will be stored confidentially and securely. Thesurvey has received ethical approval from the Conservatoires UK ethicscommittee.
If you’d be able to help, the surveycan be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/managingperformanceanxiety
If youare able to share this with other musicians (including music students) thatwould also be very helpful and very much appreciated. Manythanks in advance for your help in furthering research in this area!
All the best,
Michelle
