St Helens Life through a Lens – The Jordan & Metcalfe glass negative collection
St Helens Libraries Local History and Archives has been awarded external funding for a 10 month Archivist post to project manage the St Helens Life through a Lens project.
As Archivist, you will catalogue the Jordan & Metcalfe glass negative collection. You will be responsible for defining the hierarchical structure of the collection resulting in the formation of more than 3,000 ISAD(G) compliant multi-level entries in the CALM database.
You will require a post graduate qualification in Archive Administration, a good understanding of current archival standards, a high level of computer literacy, high levels of skills in CALM cataloguing software, be highly motivated and able to work with library staff and volunteers. You will have good organisational and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative and work within agreed project timescales with a high degree of accuracy.
We are looking for someone with an appropriate archives qualification who has knowledge of cataloguing standards including ISAD(G). They must have a working knowledge of CALM or ADLIB databases
