PERFORMANCE DATABASE PROJECT
Start Date: w/c 11 July 2016
Pay: £10.54 per hour, casual PAYE engagement
Location: Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London
The Royal Opera House is the major lyric arts theatre in the United Kingdom, enjoying an international reputation for excellence. The ROH Collections collects, preserves and makes available archives and objects covering the history of the three theatres that have stood on the site since 1732.
The ROH Collections Performance Database is an ongoing project to catalogue and put online the details of all performances at the Covent Garden theatres and by the resident companies from 1732 to date. Core information about opera, ballets and performances is already available online and the database is a heavily used research tool for the Royal Opera House, the press and media, the research community and the general public.
The home page for the database is http://rohcollections.org.uk/performances.aspx
We are looking to recruit casual staff to assist in a project to complete the record of performances that took place at the Royal Opera House in the years from 1946 to date. • Have excellent IT skills. Training on the Adlib Performance Database will be provided
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Be able to complete tasks to a high level of accuracy and with good attention to detail
• Be able to follow instructions and procedure closely
• Be self-motivated and have good time management skills to meet deadlines
