Hi all,
I have a friend who is working on a film documentary about Sigmund Freud and his daughter Anna. He is looking for material for the English period of their lives.
They left Austria and moved to Hampstead in 1938, Freud died there in 1939, and Anna lived there until her death in 1982.
The film is intended as an intimate portrait, using mainly amateur home movies footage from the late thirties to the late seventies.
They are looking for footage showing scenery of Hampstead, London, and Suffolk - Norfolk. Anna Freud had a country house in Walberswick, near Southwold, and rode her horse on Dunwich beach.
She also made frequent sailing outings on the Suffolk and Norfolk Broads.
I’ve let him know about the local record offices, and found something from the BFI, but if anyone has any useful info about amateur film footage that might be relevant, please let me know.
Many thanks
Jane
