In my search for previously published Realist Evaluations of Simulation-based Medical education programmes I have encountered this report into 2 training programmes. The concept of Realist evaluation is mentioned in the methodology section but the CMOc is written as context + mechanism = outcome, and the rest of the study doesn't seem to resemble a realist evaluation to me...
If anyone else has encountered this study and has similar reservations it would be helpful for me to hear it, as I am not convinced that this represents a template for RE that would be recognised by those in the know.
