Dear all:
Grretings from Bogota.
Sorry if I am rude with all those non-Spanish speaking members of this
community, on putting as post, a link to a paper of mine written in
Spanish, an whose title in English has been badly translated as *Resurgences:
souths as designs and other designs*. but I think that in spite of that, I
can ask for feedback from many colleagues here, let me explain
Here is the link of my article on my Academy. Edu page:

And on the journal site: http://goo.gl/HmqnPf
Well, the article, titled: *Resurgimientos: sures como diseños y diseños
otros* is very important for me as part of my ongoing doctoral research at
the Design and Creation PhD Program of the University of Caldas in
Manizales, Colombia, and was published yestereday on line by *Nomadas *a
very well respected, more than twenty years old Colombian Journal of Social
and Human Sciences. Issue 43, Octuber 2015, pages 113-129 monographic issue
on the subject of *Contemporary capitalism and the crisis of its
civilization*, in a section entitled: *Design and production of other
civilizational patterns*.
I know that among more than 2200 members within this group, all of you
studious people on design and design scholars, there are in Spain, Latin
America and other parts of the World, many who speak, write or read Spanish
well, and that will be very important to me if I get from you colleagues
some feedback or criticism in the matter *I offer to to discuss*. On time I
will order my ideas to fix my rudeness writing them in English for all you.
Until now, I just can present to you the English abstract that neither was
not really translated to my liking:
My article examines Industrial Design as a profession that supports the
modern-capitalist civilization pattern, which has harmful efects on a
global level. In response, it states the possible creation of alternatives
to coexist with industrial civilization; these alternatives are non
development-oriented equivalents of Design that have emerged from
traditions that differ from the dominant Western traditions, and originated
in locations relegated geographically, as well as in hegemonic
epistemological locations. The article concludes that the Designs of the
South have been present throughout history; time is required to recognize
the Designs, to start designing and be designed by them.
Key words: *resurgences, design, South, coexistence, sumak kawsay, mitakuye
oyasin*.
Here the link to the entire journal: http://ow.ly/YhION
Indeed many of the books and authors based on my research are reported in
this Facebook page, kind of personal repository site:
https://www.facebook.com/disenodelsur/?ref=hl.
Some of them also in English.
I remain attentive to your insights,
again, I apologyze to those who do not understand Spanish
Cheers.
