I'm contacting you now because, through a mailing list, I noticed you are running a workshop on "Futures of the End of Life: Mobilities of Loss and Commemoration in the Digital Economy" at the end of the month. I would really have liked to have submitted a paper but, unfortunately, I cannot get away at that time. But I thought that the participants in the symposium might be interested in a special issue of the MIT Press journal "Design Issues" that Wally Smith (University of Melbourne), Elise van den Hoven (University of Technology, Sydney and Eindhoven University), Wendy Moncur (University of Dundee) and I are editing. The topic is "Mortality in Design" and we are guest editors for the issue. Clearly Wendy already knows about it and I have also been in touch with a few other participants in the workshop.
I have attached the Call for Papers for your attention.
The special issue proposal originated in a workshop held in 2011 at the National University of Singapore on the theme of "Afterlife and Death in a Digital Age". As a collection, it promises to bring together papers from different disciplines hopefully in an interesting way.
Proposals are due on 26th February, as you can see from the Call for Papers and should comprise a title for the proposed paper, an abstract of no more than 500 words and biographies for all the authors. As relevant the proposal should adhere to the relevant journal style
guidelines available from: http://www.mitpressjournals.org/page/sub/desi
Proposals should be submitted as a Word or PDF attachment to:

I hope this note proves of interest to you and wish you well for it and the year ahead.
Best wishes,
