Dear All,
I wish to send across one last request to my fellow designers to respond to
the Survey on Design for Development, which I have originally posted on
18th November 2015.
Thank you to all who have responded to my Survey till now. However from
such a huge list of designers I could collect only 15 responses. It is my
earnest request to all the designers who design for the poor,
underprivileged populations (irrespective of what it is called as, design
for BoP, appropriate design, universal design etc.) to respond to this
survey. You need not to be a designer by education, as well you can hold
any position, like design manager, design strategist etc. Researchers
adopting 'research by design' approach also can respond to this survey.
Based on the feedback received by previous respondents, they came across
many interesting dimensions about design targeted towards poor, which were
not explicitly pointed out in literature. This survey may consume 30
minutes of your time, however, It will give new pointers to explore this
field further.
This will be the last request from my end and I would not like to spam the
mail boxes any further. Kindly provide your valuable feedback!
Here is the Survey- Understanding Design for Development! (Survey link -

Few clarifications before you start:
1) This survey takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
2) Having a formal design education in Design is 'NOT' a prerequisite,
however involvement in design activity targeted towards underprivileged
poor population is necessary.
3) We can share the results of this survey with you if you wish, Please
send a mail to [log in to unmask]
Your responses are appreciated!
