Reading Groups
The IMR research student reading group, ‘Classic texts in music and culture’, is convened by Professor Anahid Kassabian, who is an Honorary Research Fellow of the IMR. The reading group, which will begin meeting in February, will focus on classic and contemporary texts in cultural and social theory, and will bring together students from different universities.
The IMR is also pleased to lend its support to the Critical Theory for Musicology reading group. The group meets once a month at Senate House, and aims to provide a learning space for those interested in the interactions between Critical Theory and Musicology, with a specific focus on the ways in which various methods of critical thought can be used within musicological disciplines such as music analysis and historical musicology.
