Hear hear!
We don't separate them either, especially if we are short on resources.

Subject: Re: EXAM ROOMS - Concessions/Access Arrangements
Hi Arabella
It's not breaching regulations - we separate the extra timers from standard time for most exams by carefully arranging the seating plan.
For really large exams you could end up with 1 block of extra time and the rest of the room as standard time.
You are not telling the other students exactly who has extra time as they could in fact have other exam arrangements. The JCQ regulations talk about what is appropriate to centre resources. If the teacher in question has a departmental budget that would pay for another room and separate invigilation then you may be able to offer this service to them. If not, just stick with what you're doing.
Regards
Lorna

Subject: EXAM ROOMS - Concessions/Access Arrangements
I would be grateful to hear everyones thoughts/suggestions on this query...
I am a new exams coordinator at Aylesbury College.
I arranged extra rooms for candidates that require readers/scribes and I have placed those that require only extra time in the same room as those with no access arrangements but the tutor whos students' they are has sent me the response below which I have added for your viewing:
'I am surprised to see that those with extra time will be in the same room. Firstly, they will be disrupted by everyone else leaving and secondly, it is a breach of confidentiality as it highlights to all students that they have learning support and they do not necessarily wish others to know this about them.'
I have never recieved this query before and therefore felt it appropritate to raise on JISC.
Many thanks in advance.
