Hi Fiona,
I would suggest the following papers:
Susan D. deFrance, 2009: «Zooarchaeology in Complex Societies: Political Economy, Status and Ideology». Journal of Archaeological Research 17(2): 105-168.
Brian HESSE, 1995: «Husbandry, Dietary Taboos and the Bones of the Ancient Near East: Zooarchaeology in the Post-Processual World»: 197-232, in D. B. Small (eds.); Methods in the Mediterranean: Historical and Archaeological Views on Texts and Archaeology. Leiden (Netherlands): E. J. Brill.
K. MacDONALD, 1991: «Archaeozoology as Anthropology?». Archaeological Review from Cambridge; 10-60-69.
Sharyn J. O'DAY, Wim VAN NEER & Anton ERVYNK (eds.), 2004: Behaviour Behind Bones: The Zooarchaeology of Ritual, Religion, Status and Identity. Oxford: Oxbow Books.
Nick J. OVERTON & Yannis HAMILAKIS, 2013: «A Manifesto for a Social Zooarchaeology: Swans and other Beings in the Mesolithic». Archaeological Dialogues 20(2): 111-136.
Best,

Objet : [ZOOARCH] Zooarchaeology and theory
Hi all,
I am putting together a lecture and some readings on zooarchaeology in archaeological theory.
I would be really interested in hearing about papers which take a specifically post-processual approach to zooarchaeology or discuss/critique zooarchaeology from a post-processual perspective. Also, if anyone can suggest any papers that discuss/critique the role of theory in general in zooarchaeology.
Thank you as always
Fiona
