The University of Vienna is offering two
PhD-research fellowships
at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research
(Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics).

The positions are meant to support young scientists through their Ph.D.
research. Employment (30 hrs/week) is based on 4-year contracts.
The successful applicants will enter the department's Ph.D. program and
are expected to work on methods for high-dimension/small-sample-size
problems with a particular emphasis on inference post-model-selection or
post-shrinkage-estimation in that context.
Profile:
A Master's or comparable degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely
related discipline (completed or pending completion); a solid background
in statistics and probability theory; and promising potential for
original research.
