The successful applicants will enter the department's Ph.D. program and are expected to work on methods for high-dimension/small-sample-size problems with a particular emphasis on inference post-model-selection or post-shrinkage-estimation in that context. Profile: A Master's or comparable degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely related discipline (completed or pending completion); a solid background in statistics and probability theory; and promising potential for original research.
