Hello
I'm interested to know if any users of the Menarini 9210 analyser have seen an increase in their internal QC or EQA for glycated haemoglobin especially if you are using calibrator lot 5720?
We moved to this new lot of calibrator on 1/10/15 and saw an increase in the running mean of our IQC. We have not changed the lot of IQC material used during this period. The NEQAS EQA 394 reflected this increase as we moved to the high side of our group.
The NEQAS 395 report shows that our entire group has now moved high and for this distribution the Menarini 9210 has the highest mean result.
Given the timing of the shift I feel that this is a calibrator issue. I have contacted Menarini who are examining the data we have collected and have offered us an alternative calibrator. The alternative calibrator did not alter the results produced.
Menarini state that no other users have reported an issue yet NEQAS distribution 395 illustrates that all users in that scheme at least have experienced what we have.
So can I ask users of this analyser who are using calibrator 5720 to have a look at their IQC performance to see if their was an increase in the running mean after starting this calibrator compared to the period immediately before its use and to report their findings either here on the list or to myself.
Many thanks for any help,
Gavin
