Dear Martin,
My apologies for neglecting one key point in my clarification: I was also specifically responding to Eduardo with respect to the use of mathematics as an explicit language for PhD theses in the field of mathematics. The reason I did not reply again to Eduardo’s follow-up or Keith’s comments is that they are discussing something else. I am not debating any of these other issues. I have tried to be clear on the topics related to the questions you asked last June about my views with respect to the use of pictorial images in the PhD thesis, and where people ask questions about this topic and this only, I have felt obliged to clarify.
While I’m staying out of the other debates, I can state that my dog Freddy has an elegant solution to the problem of dividing food. If you put the plate on the floor, it’s all his.
Yours,
Ken
