The Royal College of Music is one of Britain's leading conservatoires. It provides specialised musical education and professional training at the highest international level for performers and composers. The Museum houses objects from all areas of the RCM Collections, including musical instruments, manuscripts, paintings and photographs and is closely linked with historical performance at the RCM.
Museum Research Assistant (fixed term)
The College is seeking a reliable and focused Research Assistant to support the Curator in carrying out an extensive bibliographic survey, produce critical syntheses of relevant literature in the fields of organology and history of art (particularly British paintings and portraits from the late 19th early 20th century), source images and sound files, and play an active role in writing content for digital resources, labels, panels, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research within the RCM collections and in other institutions and be highly skilled in the use of online resources.

Museum Conservator (fixed term)
The College is seeking a qualified conservator, with a strong track record in musical instruments, to take a leading role in assessing the conservation needs of the collection, coordinating a conservation plan for the new display, assisting in the decant and documentation of the collections, and implementing conservation over the fixed term period. The conservator will also be expected to manage three one-year interns and a small group of volunteers.
