The Cardiff School of Music is pleased to announce an exciting
opportunity to pursue full-time doctoral research at the School.
Applications are invited from outstanding applicants of a high calibre.
We welcome applications from candidates wishing to develop projects on
the topics of (but not limited to):
· Opera and Drama
· Performance-Practice
· 20th/21st Century Music
The School welcomes thesis, composition and performance doctoral
applications. We are an internationally recognised centre of excellence
in research and teaching across a range of subject areas with our
reputation for excellence recognised in the 2014 REF. The School now
ranks 8th in the UK amongst music departments for research excellence.
Significantly, the School scored 90% in the category “research environment”.
The studentship will cover full UK/EU tuition fees, a maintenance
stipend of £6,000 per annum for 3 years, the School also provides
doctoral candidates with a research training fund of up to £1,200.
