In collaboration with a computer programmer we have created a working system for the recording and analyses of butchery and other processing marks. The system itself has been designed to use two free/commonly used software packages (Microsoft Access & PaintNet) and all our system components are available for free.
We believe we have created a system that has the potential to be applied widely with in-built opportunities to make meaningful analyses and share data so inter-site comparisons can made easily.
We introduced the system as a poster paper at the PZAF2015 meeting in Tarragona (24-26 September) where evaluation material was also made available.
If anyone is interested in the system a copy of the PZAF2015 abstract and poster can be viewed at https://independent.academia.edu/FischerAlbert or https://independent.academia.edu/AnitaCornwell
The evaluation material for the system referred to on the poster and available at the meeting has now been placed on Drop Box. Firstly a “Read Me” file which gives information about installing and working through the evaluation material.

And the evaluation material itself which comprises of a PowerPoint presentation about the system, its design and development together with demonstrations of how it works. Secondly an evaluation version of the database and the graphic components of the system.
