Dear Terry,
You state:
"Three questions that seem to not yet be well answered:
1. Do photographers design?
2. If so, what specifically is the design process that is used and to
what does it apply?
3. What is the output of the design process? "
This may be because the questions haven't been asked. And I am wondering why the questions need to be asked? Is there some particular characteristic of photography of the various disciplines within Art & Design that provokes the question? I would be happy to attempt an answer but it wouldn't describe activities very different from other areas of 2-dimesional design- vision, intent, judgement, composition, structure etc etc (and of course it depends on which particular definition of 'design' you are using).
Best wishes,
Martin
