medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear All
Scenes from the exceptional cycle of paintings of Maurilius' Life can be enjoyed by going to my page on St Morrell of Hallaton - http://www.le.ac.uk/users/grj/morrell.html - and clicking on 'Life of St Morrell' in the last paragraph. The latest on Morrell is that the rectilinear building underlying his medieval chapel on the hill above Hallaton has indeed turned out to be Romano-British, filling in part of the chronological gap between today's continued festivities there and the now celebrated Iron Age/RB (and possibly Bronze Age) ritual use of the hilltop that produced the Hallaton Hoard.
Thanks for the reminder, Matt.
All the best
Graham
PS: The 'frozen' state of my Leicester web-pages (chaotically organised nearly two decades ago and seriously in need of bringing into order and up to date) is another example of the university-hosted internet resources problem currently being discussed here.

“Saint Maurilius (French: Maurille) (c. 336 – 426), a priest originally from Milan, was the bishop of Angers between 423 and 453. He played an early role in the Christianization of Gaul.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurilius_of_Angers)
