GK,
Yeesh, Garry. I did not respond to your post and I don’t plan to debate you now.
It makes no sense to demand that I apologise to list because someone else chose to write to me. People on scholarly lists and research forums write personal notes to each other all the time. It would be foolish for everyone to write to the entire list when they wish to sound out a private idea or share an opinion. As it happens, at least a dozen people wrote me private notes about different posts to this thread. Do you expect that I should apologise to the list every time someone sends me a private note?
While I would have preferred that Lubomir had not posted his comments to the list, he has apologised to you for mistakenly posting to the list. It remains the case that Lubomir’s opinions are based on research and professional practice both. In addition to two PhD degrees — one in sociology, one in architecture — Lubomir is a certified practitioner in clinical and applied sociology. He actually works in third-order and fourth-order design.
Your concern for what you describe as “young generation readers on this list” is misplaced. The majority of subscribers are staff members at a university with responsibility for doctoral students and research programs. Many are professors in their 40s and 50s. A fair number of subscribers are doctoral students: they are generally in the 20s and 30s. All have completed a bachelor’s degree and most have completed a master’s degree. A significant number of list subscribers have as much industry experience as you do, and some have more. All of them are old enough to make up their own minds about the value of what they read.
On this list and elsewhere, you have criticised what you consider to be my flaws. As you describe me, I am a poor scholar, a poor leader, and a person of bad character. Since this is your opinion, I’ll say that I am aware of your views and leave it at that.
I appreciate your offer to review my materials. I’ll take it under advisement.
Ken
