Spaces are still available for the marketing workshop “Snap, Crackle & Flop: Creating Better Copy”, taking place on Friday 26th June from 9.30am-1.30pm at Bournemouth Library, Bournemouth (BH2 5RQ). This workshop will be led by Mark Burgess.
This course is aimed at those involved in the creation of publicity or promotional materials, particularly those new to the Library and Information profession or those with an interest in visual/graphic design who want to learn the basics.
Objectives: At the end of the workshop participants will have:
1. Considered the importance of the design brief in order to stay ‘on message’ and ‘on target’
2. Recognised the impact of the interplay between form and space 3. Developed an understanding of different grid systems in guiding layout 4. Examined why choice and position of typography impacts the visual message and tone 5. Reflected on the choice of colour and the impact this may have on its reader 6. Gained knowledge of some of the fundamental principles behind graphic design
