Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit abstracts to the following special session at the next AGU Fall Meeting (14-18 December 2015)
Session T009: Characterizing cratons and craton margins
Archean cratons often display a relatively simple lithospheric architecture, whereas surrounding Proterozoic and Cenozoic orogens often have a considerably more complex Moho topography and deep crustal structure. This contrast, as seen for example in Western Australia and eastern North America, implies significant differences in the processes of making and stabilizing the continental assemblages. The integration of seismic, geological, isotopic and other observations can provide insight into these processes. We invite contributions that address the structural history and compositional evolution of cratons and their margins globally.
