Don is right I think. However from what i understand, there are conventions in social science to take methodology to mean an account of the method accompanied by an account of the ontology, epistemology and axiology presupposed together with the method. Some accounts of methods simply stop there without developing or clarifying the accompanying ontology, epistemology and axiology, and these will not be elevated to the status of a methodology. Well this is what i have been told again and again. I think it is worthwhile to research metholodies in design, in this full sense. At least I am currently writing something in that direction.

OK, I'll correct you.
Ology means, for this purpose, "the study of"
so methodology is the study of methods.
People confuse the two. TRIZ is a method. This weird conversation
is about methodology.
