Hi Kim and Laura
No, the Florentine new year began with the feast of the Annunciation, 25 March. C.

Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase- I meant search for 'calendar'. I think the Florentine New Year began with the Feast of John the Baptist, whereas a lot of places began with the Feast of the Annunciation, but I wouldn't swear to this!
all best

Hi Laura! Thanks for your suggestion; I’ve gone through the 480 matches for ‘Florence’ in the archives, and haven’t found this. I’ll try some other searches, and let you know if I have any success.
Best wishes, Kim

Hi Kim,
I'm pretty sure there have been references offered on this list in the past as I made a mental note to myself that I should have a look in the Med-Rel archive when I need calendar info. Haven't done so, but try it...

Dear medieval-religion colleagues,
Might anyone know of an online resource (or a printed one, for that matter) that provides data relative to Italian calendars in the later Middle Ages?
I’m particularly interested in Florence, and especially:
1) the date on which the new year would fall in Florence, and whether this was different from other Tuscan places
and
2) a list of notable liturgical feasts and their dates.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best wishes, Kim Robin
