Dear Ken
I¹d add that the Swiss Design Network (SDN), notably Anina Schneller and
Arne Scheuermann have done a lot of work to explain visual rhetoric in
design. That is rhetoric specifically not using words. The SDN build on
Buchanan and Kinross, and before them, the work of Gui Bonsiepe and Tomás
Maldonado at Ulm in the 50s.
