Dear James
Perhaps this somehow is of interest to you:
*The SIP System: A Design Research Concept at the Paris Centre Beaubourg,
1973-1992.* *Design Issues*: Volume 26, Number 4 Autumn 2010, pp. 57-70.
This is an account on how, instead of starting ideation out of the blue, we
rather were extracting data from products in real use with the aim to
designing new and better products, i.e. product development decision
making, based on those factual data.
My mentors and friends went on all along the 90s, consulting for industry.
If you find this of interest to you,I'll pass on their respective contact.
Best wishes, and please share what else you eventually get from other
people on and out of this list.
